Oregon Bike Shop Resource List

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting all of our lives, we wanted to put together a bike shop resource list for our members and cycling enthusiasts in Oregon. We understand that a lot of you are still riding your bikes (maybe even more so at this time) either inside or outside (by yourself).

The list will include the shop’s name, website, current resources for customers, and their location. (Last updated 4/9 at 7:30 am)

Thanks to Bike Portland for starting this project and for the inspiration.

OBRA Zwift/Strava and Trainer Contest

We are in uncertain times when it comes to bike racing. Our community is strong and loves competition. While bike racing is on hold for the time being let’s do what we can to encourage competition while at the same time encourage social distancing and solo riding.

That being said we will be holding a Zwift Strava segment competition for the next 2 weeks.

How it works: Riders will have two weeks (Monday, March 23rd – Monday, April 6th) to post their fastest times on each of the following verified Strava segments on the Zwift Watopia course. We will choose both men’s and women’s winners for this.

Segment 1

Segment 2

We choose these two segments based on their versatility. One will be a .5-mile climb and one is a 2.3-mile climb. To take part in the contest you must be an active OBRA member and be a part of the OBRA Strava Club. That way we can easily filter out the fastest times for OBRA racers.

For those who don’t have access to Zwift, but do have access to a trainer or rollers, we would like to hold a contest for who can ride the longest continuous ride on the trainer. To take part in this contest you will need to be an active OBRA member, part of the OBRA Strava Club, and upload your ride to Strava within the two-week contest period. We will also choose men’s and women’s winners for this.

Please make sure to post photos of your time riding the trainer or rollers while competing in this contest on social media. Tag all photos with #oregonbikeracing and @oregonbikeracing so we know what you are up to! You can even pin your numbers on, wear your team’s kit, or vintage OBRA kit! We will also pick our favorite photo from Instagram during the contest period and send you a prize.

Did you know that all you need to ride on Zwift is a trainer or rollers and a power meter? You don’t need a smart trainer. Thanks to Stages Cycling we are happy to offer a 20% discount to all OBRA members. If you’re a current OBRA member and would like to take part in this deal, please email our Marketing Director, Joel Fletcher at jfletcher@obra.org.

The discount code is good for a one time purchase of a regularly priced Stages power meter or Stages Dash computer and excludes our Factory Install power meter program.

(Please do not share this code. This code is for active OBRA members only. If we find you sharing or distributing the code, your priveledges to take part in this contest or use other OBRA discounts will be revoked.)
