OBRA BOD meeting

State of the union:

Budget –

  • Cash wise, we are doing fine; Took a loss in revenue, due to membership being down.
  • Membership is down; 3,700 total; we hoped this is rock bottom. Masters 40+ driving membership

BOD hiring notes –

  • Reviewed Resumes and evals from first round interviews
  • Edited questions; per input of BOD members present
  • Set conference call for Monday after interviews for final discussion and decision by full BOD members.

Membership notes –

  • Upgrades are going okay
  • Things to look at in the future:
    • Electronic registration; onsite registration is this possible?
    • Results mix-up between names; Fabric number vs card number cause confusion with members.
  • Membership – free one-day cards; any additional info needed; no

Official sign up–

  • Nothing so far on who wants to work what event.

Marketing –

  • Working on Junior camps – Cyclocross & Track camps; planning now
  • Clinics – free clinic for Juniors
  • PIR – Free Junior racing at PIR; first 8 weeks.
  • Clinics for Track – targeting Wednesday nights
  • Cyclocross numbers up for Juniors this year
  • Bike series – leader’s jerseys have been ordered
  • New for this year; Junior track series, James Newman + Joel want to run on at Alpenrose on Tuesday nights
  • Joel met with Heather (NICA) – Information trade with NICA – every NICA rider is to get a flyer, information on joining OBRA, free race card, in exchange to NICA to use equipment for races.
  • NICA series to be 4 hopefully in spring
  • Cycle Oregon – getting info into Cycling Oregon packets
  • Social media and content to continue
  • Get more info up on OBRA industry site
  • Push information: newsletter to once a month and push more special events quick hit emails.
  • Push information: OBRA championship events; early
  • Post code of conduct on industry site & OBRA site

Proposals, requiring BOD votes

  • Code of conduct- passed
  • Discrimination policy – passed
  • Board of Director revision to duties + the ability to removed a BOD member with 3/5 vote – passed

Track committee –

  • Bylaws – rough draft, shortly
  • Junior program – free bicycles from JBV
